county. The Phipps Bend Industrial District, a joint venture between
the city of Kingsport and Hawkins County, is located near Surgoinsville.
The Industrial District is the former site of the canceled Tennessee
Valley Authority Phipps Bend Nuclear Plant. Phipps Bend is one
of the most attractive tracts of industrial property in the Southeast.
